Partial Dentures

The dental office of Dr. Aron Turner offers same day partial dentures to our patients throughout the Baltimore County area. News of our affordable dentures has spread, so we routinely see patients from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia and surrounding states. We truly give you something to smile about!

Partial Dentures

A partial denture is designed to fill in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevent other teeth from changing position. We generally wait three days after tooth extractions before fitting our patients for new partial dentures. This allows the swelling from the extraction site to go down, and the gums to heal. Full dentures, or complete dentures replace all the teeth.

Types of Partial Dentures

There are two types of partial dentures: fixed and removable. The health of the teeth surrounding the gap is one of the factors that Dr. Turner considers before deciding what type of partial denture is best for you. Our denture lab technicians make both acrylic, flexible partial dentures, and cast metal with cosmetic partials.

Fixed Partial Denture

A fixed partial denture is also called a dental bridge. A dental bridge permanently attaches artificial teeth directly to the jaw with a dental crown or under the gum tissue with dental implants.

Flexible Partial Dentures

Flexible Partial Dentures are a pressure-injected, flexible denture base this is ideal for partial dentures, unilateral nesbits and flipper partials. Lightweight, practically invisible, and wonderfully comfortable, Flexible Partial Dentures are a biocompatible nylon thermoplastic that has been pleasing denture patients for over 50 years.

Removable Partial Dentures

Removable partial dentures fill the gap between two healthy teeth and consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base. Removable partial dentures are connected by a metal framework that helps keep them in place. Valplast flexible dentures provide you added comfort without visible metal clasps.

Both types of partial dentures offer several benefits. Partial dentures:

  • Make it easier for you to speak and chew
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Decrease the risk of gum disease
  • Prevent other teeth from shifting
  • Ease the stress of your jaw

It’s important to continue to see Dr. Turner on a regular basis, so he can check the fit of your partial dentures, and examine you for any other dental problems.
